New Media Manitoba Business Showcase - The Videos

Hi All,
Well, below are the eight main company profile videos we recently completed for New Media Manitoba (NMM). The goal was to capture not just a standard profile, but also the personal stories behind the various companies. Ultimately, NMM wants these videos to help play a role in shedding some light on Manitoba's exceptionally active, but relatively quiet, new media community.
Initial reaction has been really really positive, and we are so thankful to New Media Manitoba for letting us work on this with them. Also, a big thank you must go out to all of the companies and individuals that told us there stories and let us run with it!
These videos will soon find a more permanent Internet home on NMM's new website coming soon and on the various blogs and sites of the companies involved. But until then, here they are...
(oh, in the upcoming weeks, we plan to write a little more about each video, perhaps include some additional content - there was soooo much good stuff coming from these guys. So do check back)

The quality of your film(s) and how you were able to capture Winnipeg was amazing. I keep saying this but you guys rock!
I just spent an hour watching all the videos. I am inspired! Who knew that Winnipeg harboured such infinite talent? Our company has worked with two of the featured companies and the experiences have been nothing short of fantastic. They get it. Congratulations on showcasing our new media rock stars.

It was a fantastic experience working on these pieces. Going around from company to company and hearing their stories was really inspiring - not only because of the stories themselves, but there was a commonality between each situation that I found really heartening and reassuring.
I think Chris Lobay nailed it when he mentioned that all too often this industry, we are an industry of people holed up in their basement, working away, without realizing that there are so many others doing the same thing. To see these other companies' workflows, struggles and (most importantly) successes in a completely relatable light was so inspiring. We felt it during the production and we hope that feeling made it through to the video as well.
I think connecting those dots between basements and providing these low-pressure, casual opportunities to meet others in the industry is the absolute number one benefit provided by New Media Manitoba. It's been invaluable to us. (but of course, all the training & presentations are great too)
...kind of got off on a tangent there...but, yeah, Winnipeg's New Media community rocks!

The videos absolutely lived up to (and exceeded) all the pre-event hype. Top-class profiles. What a great taste of the industry here in the city. I can't wait for next year's! :)
